Rankin Publishing, Inc., Arcola, IL, announces the sale of Rags magazine to Castle Press Publications, publishers of Doll Castle News effective October 1, 2008. Castle Press, is located in rural northwest New Jersey, and has been in the printing and publishing business since 1960. It is a family owned and operated company. The late Edwina L. Mueller established Doll Castle News, a magazine for doll collectors, in 1961. It was created to serve the general interest of the doll collector with editorial coverage of antique to modern and collectible dolls, accessories and related items.

Now in its 48th year, Doll Castle News continues to be published by the Mueller family. Daughter, Dorita Alice Mortensen currently serves as the editor, and son Barry has been the publisher since its inception. The magazine enjoys the loyalty of its readers, which provides a solid base of circulation domestically as well as internationally. Under the terms of the sale agreement, Castle Press Publications will honor and fulfill all current Rags subscriptions. Castle Press Publications will continue to publish Rags as a separate magazine.

It has been our pleasure to be the “Voice of the Raggedy World” since August 2000. Rankin Publishing, Inc. continues the publication of its trade magazines.

All news, photos and other items that have been submitted to Rags for use in future issues have been forwarded to Castle Press Publications.
