  • Kubesh Miniatures
Kubesh dolls are constructed of fimo. They consist of head and neck piece, shoulder plate, hands and feet. The hands are individually sculpted complete with fingernails and fold lines. They can be posed to hold specific objects, at your request. The feet are sculpted of fimo or for standing dolls, a lead foot is used to allow the doll to stand on it's own. The dolls are of wire construction, fully posable. They are padded with cotton and wrapped with strips of cotton material to form a very realistic body. The clothes are constructed on the doll to avoid a bulky look and are not removable. On dolls that have jackets the shirt consists only of a front, collar and cuffs to avoid bulkiness. The finest natural fabrics are used whenever possible, blends are used on the modern dolls.

  • Reverie Publishing Company
Our mission, to delight and instruct, grows from our developed belief that we never lose our childhood delight in toys. The love of play and playthings is instinctive, and can be nurtured throughout our lives. As the late artist and scholar John Darcy Noble, curator emeritus of the Toy Collection at the Museum of the City of New York, once wrote: "Play is a natural human function. The very making of a doll can be play, and so can the collecting of dolls, the preserving and displaying of dolls, the cherishing, and above all, the sheer thrill and delight in the possession of dolls. All this, to my mind, is an exalted form of play." He mentions only dolls, but Mr. Noble would have been the first to insist that his philosophy extends far beyond dolls to all other toys.
